Recent Topshop Purchases

When I was in Sydney at the beginning of March I took the opportunity to visit Topshop, maybe 5 or 6 times! Unfortunately we don't have a large range of Topshop goodness in Wellington, only a few pieces at Karen Walker. The store in Sydney's inner city is 4 floors of pure Topshop heaven. My friend and I spent numerous hours getting lost in the beautiful clothes and shoes!

I decided to buy two key winter pieces, a wool coat and leather boots. The coat is a gorgeous blend of grey and pink. It is slightly oversized meaning a perfect piece for layering in this cold weather! The boots were love at first sight! The simple stud detailing and the buckle across the front are the perfect additions.

The only positive of this cold weather is that I can wear these beauties! Extremely jealous of you Northern hemisphere people though! Hurry up summer!

Recipe: Good old Scones!

What you'll need:
- 3 cups of plain flour
- 6 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 75 grams butter
- 1-1/2 cups milk
- extra milk for glazing

Preheat oven to 220 degrees Celsius
Sift flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl.
Cut butter in until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. 
(I recommend microwaving for 10 seconds to soften it a little.)
Add 1 cup milk and mix quickly with a knife to a soft dough, adding more milk if needed.
Knead a few times.
Lightly dust an oven tray with flour.
Press scone mix out on floured bench or tray, cut into 12 even-sized pieces.
Place on oven tray, brush tops with milk and place in top half of oven to bake.
Bake scones for about 10 minutes or until golden brown.
Once golden brown with crisp crusts, remove from oven and allow to cool.
Or eat warm with jam and cream. YUM!

This scone recipe is an Edmonds one, a New Zealand staple recipe book. This was actually the first time I made these (by myself) and they are foolproof! I did make the dough a little too tall, I should've rolled it out more, however this means more scone! Way better right!?

Tangle Teezer

Tangle Teezer $16.50NZD from Beauty Bay

I'm sure many of you have heard about the Tangle Teezer. I only found out about it a few weeks ago and decided to buy it straightaway from Beauty Bay. Because I have long, curly hair, no matter what I've done that day whether I've been at home or out I always get terribly knotty hair that is a pain to brush out. Ever since I got the Tangle Teezer it is the only brush that I have been using on my hair. It is non-damaging to the ends and doesn't hurt your scalp by pulling the hairs. In my opinion the best brush I have ever used! I really wish I'd had this when I was younger - I have horrible hair brushing stories!

Breakfast in the Sun

Avo on toast. One of my favorite things to have for breakfast at the moment while avocados are in season! It was a perfect morning sitting on my bed in the sun enjoying this.
